ATi Radeon 8500 64Mb

Well, we’ve done a GF3 review to song, so it’s only fair that I return the favour with a Radeon 8500 review in MIME. (I crack me up..)
Only kidding. However, when we obtained a 64Mb Radeon 8500 from ATi I felt it only fair to have a good gander into the card and let you guys know all about it.

Right, let’s clear up a couple of things first of all.. We’re not cutting edge reviewing here. The Radeon has been out quite a while and there have been 101 reviews about the card. I’m also guessing that you, the reader, isn’t really that bothered about how many quadrillion triangles a second this thing shifts.
In fact, let’s have a little rant a sec and see if we can strike up some kind of rapport here. Face it, you want to know how much it is, what kind of 3Dmark2001 score you can expect with it, if you can overclock it/where you stick the heatsinks and how much better it’s going to make.

If you want to know how many Render Pipelines it has or how small the Manufacturing process microns are, I suggest you read another review. I’m not going to totally dismiss any benchmarks, but believe me, you don’t care what a Pixel Shader is.
